Steven and Diane Cheney
Associate Pastor
Steven came to Westwood in January of 1987 as Minister of Music. In 1992 He
became
Associate Pastor. Steven has been in the ministry for the last 23 years.
Steven met Diane his wife at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. It would be a couple of years after college that they would be married when Steven left the road singing with “Sonlight” a professional singing group that represented BBC. They were married in September of 1981. They also have a daughter, Lauren who is 18 years old. She is pursuing music in college at Ohio University in Zanesville.
Steven enjoys writing music and praise and worship songs. He has written and published over 300 songs and has a publishing company called Cheney Mencer Music which has published 600 songs in its catalog. He is also a member of ASCAP (The American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers). He also travels with a singing group “Mencer, White & Cheney”. They are recognized nationally in radio and record for MWC Productions. The group travels throughout the United States. They sing and produce their own material.
